Job Summary

SME Careers is seeking an Advertising Expert for an hourly, remote contractor role. As an advertising subject matter expert, this person will review AI-generated advertising work and may create specialist ad copy and campaign assets. The expert will assess reasoning, strategic alignment and creative decision-making, provide precise written feedback, judge clarity, persuasion, brand and platform fit, verify claims when required, write model deliverables with explanations, and compare responses for effectiveness, correctness and reasoning quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify weaknesses in audience-targeting logic, messaging hierarchy, offer framing, hooks and calls to action, compliance or claims risk, and creative-testing strategy.
• Build detailed prompts and reference-quality ad-copy sets, creative briefs, testing plans and performance analyses.
• Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve strategic fit, persuasion, clarity and practical usefulness.
• Test outputs for inaccuracies, misleading claims, policy violations and bias, and assess reliability across channels and audiences.

Your Profile

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of professional advertising or performance-marketing experience in an agency or in-house role, with hands-on ownership of campaigns.
• Strong command of positioning, offer strategy, messaging frameworks, hooks, calls to action and creative iteration.
• Relevant experience across major channels such as Meta platforms, Google Ads or YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, programmatic advertising or connected television.
• Strong measurement instincts covering CTR, CVR, CPA, ROAS, LTV, attribution limitations and the fundamentals of experimental design.
• Ability to assess and improve ad copy for clarity, differentiation, compliance and platform-policy fit, particularly in regulated categories.
• Ability to produce reference-quality ad variations, creative briefs, landing-page critiques and testing roadmaps with clear reasoning.
• At least C1 English proficiency and excellent writing and editing skills.
• Reliability, self-direction and consistent delivery in an hourly remote workflow across time zones.
• Experience with AI data training or annotation, creative quality assurance, editorial review or ad-policy review is strongly preferred.
