Job Summary

SME Careers is hiring a Radiologist subject-matter expert for an hourly, remote contractor role. The radiologist will review AI-generated radiology and medical-imaging responses and/or produce expert imaging content, analyse step-by-step clinical reasoning, and provide precise written feedback. The work includes assessing accuracy, clarity, safety, and prompt adherence; finding errors in imaging appropriateness, differential diagnosis, modality choice, protocols, incidental-finding logic, and patient-safety considerations involving contrast, radiation, pregnancy, allergies, or renal function; fact-checking clinical and imaging information; writing model explanations; and comparing responses for correctness and reasoning quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed prompts and gold-standard answers covering imaging appropriateness, protocols, differential diagnosis, and radiology-reporting concepts.
• Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve clinical correctness, safety, clarity, and contextual fit.
• Test AI output for inaccuracies, unsafe imaging recommendations, and bias across patient groups and use cases.

Your Profile

• An MD, DO, or equivalent degree, completed Diagnostic Radiology residency, and board eligibility or certification, or the local equivalent.
• At least 5 years of professional radiology practice in an academic, community, teleradiology, or subspecialty setting.
• Strong clinical reasoning for translating presentations into imaging strategies and prioritising differential diagnoses from imaging and clinical context.
• Deep understanding of imaging modalities and their trade-offs, including sensitivity, specificity, limitations, artefacts, and protocol effects.
• Excellent safety judgement covering contrast reactions, nephrotoxicity risk, pregnancy, anticoagulation and procedure risks, and radiation-dose principles.
• Minimum C1 English and exceptional detail when identifying unsafe assumptions, missed critical diagnoses, or misleading explanations.
• The ability to judge consistency from clinical story through modality, findings, impression, and next steps, as well as appropriateness for emergency, outpatient, and inpatient settings.
• A reliable, independent approach to consistent quality in an hourly remote workflow across time zones.
• Prior AI data training or annotation, report quality assurance, peer review, utilisation management, or medical editorial experience is strongly preferred.
