SME Careers is looking for a Dentist to work as a dental subject matter expert in an hourly, remote contractor role. The expert will review AI-generated dental and oral-health responses and may create specialist dental content. The work requires assessing clinical reasoning, giving precise written feedback, checking accuracy, clarity, safety and prompt adherence, verifying dental and medical information, writing model explanations and solutions, and comparing responses for correctness and reasoning quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify errors in diagnosis, treatment planning, pharmacology and antibiotic stewardship, radiographic-interpretation logic, contraindications and patient-safety considerations.
• Create detailed prompts and reference-quality answers on oral health, dental diagnosis, treatment planning, emergencies, prescribing and patient counselling.
• Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve correctness, safety, clarity and contextual relevance.
• Test outputs for inaccuracies, unsafe recommendations and bias across patient groups and use cases.

Your Profile

• A DDS, DMD or equivalent dental degree, together with active dental licensure or eligibility, and a strong foundation in oral diagnosis, treatment planning and patient care.
• At least 5 years of professional clinical-dentistry experience in general practice, hospital dentistry, community dentistry or a dental specialty.
• Confidence in differential diagnosis, recognition of red flags, urgent versus routine triage and explaining how evidence supports a conclusion.
• Strong understanding of caries, periodontal disease, endodontic pathology and oral lesions, together with dental materials and procedural fundamentals.
• Exceptional care when verifying clinical content and finding unsafe assumptions, omitted contraindications such as anticoagulant use or immunosuppression, medication risks and misinterpreted findings; at least C1 English proficiency.
• Ability to assess consistency from history and examination through diagnosis and planning, appropriateness for an emergency department or dental-clinic setting, and patient-safety implications.
• Reliability, self-direction and consistent delivery in an hourly remote workflow across time zones.
• Experience with AI data training or annotation, clinical-documentation review, peer review, utilisation review, dental editorial quality assurance or guideline-based content is strongly preferred.
