Job Summary

SME Careers is hiring a Nurse Specialist and/or Nurse Practitioner subject-matter expert for an hourly, remote contractor role. The expert will review AI-generated clinical answers and/or create healthcare content, evaluate step-by-step clinical reasoning, and provide precise written feedback. The work includes checking accuracy, clarity, safety, and prompt adherence; finding problems in advanced assessment, diagnosis and differential thinking, test selection and interpretation, prescribing or medication management where within scope, care pathways, and escalation or red-flag recognition; verifying clinical facts; writing model solutions; and comparing responses for correctness and reasoning quality.

Specialists are welcomed from Family NP, Adult-Gerontology NP, Acute Care NP, Pediatric NP, Psychiatric-Mental Health NP, Women’s Health NP, Neonatal NP, Nurse Midwifery, Oncology, Cardiology, Emergency and Trauma, ICU and Critical Care, Perioperative and OR, Wound Care, Diabetes Education, and Community or Public Health advanced practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed prompts and gold-standard answers aligned with the expert’s specialty, including assessment, diagnosis, management, patient education, and documentation.
• Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve correctness, safety, clarity, and contextual relevance.
• Test AI output for inaccuracies, unsafe recommendations, and bias across patient populations and scenarios.

Your Profile

• An NP, APRN, or equivalent advanced-practice nursing qualification, with active licensure or registration, or eligibility, in at least one jurisdiction.
• At least 5 years of nursing experience overall; 2+ years in an advanced-practice or specialist role is preferred.
• Strong advanced clinical reasoning covering differential diagnosis, triage, red-flag recognition, and escalation within the applicable scope and setting.
• Experience managing common and complex conditions appropriate to the specialty, including follow-up planning, referrals, and patient education.
• Strong medication-safety judgement within scope, covering contraindications, high-level interaction risks, relevant renal or hepatic considerations, and monitoring plans.
• Minimum C1 English and exceptional care when identifying unsafe assumptions, omitted contraindications, unsuitable tests or treatments, or incorrectly interpreted results.
• The ability to judge internal consistency in timelines, physiology, dosing logic, and guideline alignment, as well as suitability for emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings and implications for patient safety.
• Reliability, independence, and consistent quality in an hourly remote workflow across time zones.
• AI data training or annotation, utilisation review, clinical-documentation review, guideline work, or healthcare editorial quality assurance experience is strongly preferred.
