Job Summary

SME Careers is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for an hourly, remote contractor role. The engineer will review AI-generated engineering solutions and/or create expert mechanical-engineering content, assess reasoning and step-by-step problem-solving, and give concise written feedback. The work involves checking accuracy, clarity, and prompt adherence; identifying methodological or conceptual mistakes; verifying assumptions; preparing strong explanations and model solutions; and comparing responses for correctness and reasoning quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed prompts and responses across varied subjects to support broad AI learning.
• Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance.
• Test AI models for possible inaccuracies or bias and assess their reliability across use cases.

Your Profile

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering Physics, with relevant grounding in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluids, statics and dynamics, and differential equations.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, applied physics, engineering mathematics, and system modelling.
• The ability to assess technical solutions for correctness, method, units and dimensional consistency, assumptions, and physical plausibility with close attention to detail.
• Minimum C1 English and the ability to explain reasoning and corrections clearly in writing.
• Experience applying design fundamentals such as requirements, constraints, margins, and trade-offs in real engineering contexts.
• A reliable, self-directed approach to producing consistent quality in an hourly remote workflow across time zones.
• Previous AI data training, annotation, or technical-review experience is strongly preferred.
