Job Summary

SME Careers is looking for a Financial Analyst to work as a financial-analysis subject matter expert in an hourly, remote contractor role. The work involves reviewing AI-generated financial analysis and business-finance responses and may include creating specialist finance content. The expert will judge analytical reasoning, provide precise written feedback, check accuracy, clarity and adherence to prompts, verify finance concepts and calculations, write strong explanations and model solutions, and compare responses for correctness and reasoning quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify problems in financial-modelling logic, assumptions, unit economics, valuation reasoning, forecasting and the interpretation of metrics.
• Create detailed prompts and reference-quality finance outputs, including models, assumption tables, narratives, sensitivity analyses and investment-style summaries.
• Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve numerical correctness, rigor, clarity and practical usefulness.
• Test outputs for calculation errors, misleading interpretations, unsafe assumptions and bias, and assess their reliability across business scenarios.

Your Profile

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field; a CFA or MBA is a strong plus.
• At least 5 years of professional financial-analysis experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, equity research, consulting or a similar area.
• Strong command of three-statement logic, cash-flow drivers, working capital, margin analysis, capital allocation and basic corporate-accounting linkages.
• Proven experience building and reviewing forecasting, scenario and sensitivity models, cohort or unit-economics models, and pricing or packaging analyses.
• Comfort with DCF mechanics, comparable-company selection and multiple drivers, together with the ability to state assumptions and limitations clearly.
• Strong quantitative rigor and attention to units, sign conventions, time horizons, circularity and error checks.
• Ability to explain complex analyses in writing through executive summaries, key drivers, risks and recommendations, with at least C1 English proficiency.
• Reliability, self-direction and consistent delivery in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones.
• Experience with AI data training or annotation, finance quality assurance, investment-memo review or analytics editorial work is strongly preferred.
