Job Summary

This hourly, remote contractor role requires you to function as a Paralegal Subject Matter Expert (SME) to review AI-generated legal support responses and create expert paralegal content. You will evaluate the reasoning quality and step-by-step task execution of AI outputs while providing precise written feedback. Responsibilities include assessing solutions for accuracy, clarity, completeness, and adherence to prompts; identifying errors in legal terminology, procedural steps, document structure, issue spotting, and citation/authority handling; fact-checking legal-adjacent information; writing high-quality explanations and model outputs that demonstrate correct methods; and rating and comparing multiple responses based on correctness and reasoning quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop AI training content by creating detailed prompts and gold-standard paralegal deliverables (document templates, checklists, research summaries, drafting examples)
• Optimize AI performance by evaluating and ranking AI responses to improve correctness, clarity, formatting, and procedural usefulness
• Ensure model integrity by testing AI outputs for inaccuracies, misleading certainty, confidentiality risks, and bias; validating reliability across legal support use cases

Your Profile

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field; paralegal certification is a plus
• 4+ years of professional experience as a paralegal or legal assistant (law firm, in-house, or public sector)
• Strong command of legal support workflows: intake, fact gathering, document drafting, version control, and matter organization
• Proven experience with legal research and summarizing authorities (cases, statutes, regulations) clearly and accurately
• Familiarity with litigation processes (pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, motion practice support) and/or transactional workflows (contracts, corporate filings), depending on lane
• Exceptional attention to detail: spotting inconsistencies, missing facts, formatting issues, and ambiguous wording; minimum C1 English proficiency
• Comfort working with confidentiality requirements and handling sensitive information appropriately
• Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones
• Prior experience with AI data training/annotation, document QA, legal ops, or editorial review is strongly preferred
