Field Coordinator Full Time On-site Volunteer NEW

Job Summary

United Nations Volunteers is advertising one national Field Coordinator assignment hosted by UNFPA in Dili, Timor-Leste. The full-time, onsite assignment is expected to start on 05 October 2026 and run for six months, with the possibility of extension. Working under the Project Coordinator or a designated representative, the volunteer will support municipal coordination, programme monitoring, financial oversight and administration.

Technical Leadership

• Strengthen and expand sustainable coordination mechanisms within municipality coordination structures.
• Work with local and district government counterparts in their role as chairs of district coordination structures.
• Scan the policy environment continuously and keep the Project Coordinator informed of relevant developments.
• Develop or revise training and behaviour-change communication and information, education and communication materials for the local context, and work with national partners to deliver relevant training.
• Provide technical input for advocacy and policy documents.
• Support annual site-based workplans and budgets, including financial allocations and expenditure, so project resources are used effectively.
• Contribute information for country-programme and component-project formulation, funding proposals, project documents and workplans.

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Collect and compile monthly district reports for analysis of programme progress and results, and provide feedback and guidance in consultation with the Project Coordinator.
• Support financial-performance monitoring by reporting implementation rates against indicators and results, identifying possible over- or underspending, and proposing corrective action.
• Support project and programme evaluation through field visits, review meetings, and regular contributions to status and progress reports.

Administration and Programme Support

• Track budgets and expenditure to help keep the programme within budget.
• Ensure office and regional assets are maintained and used in accordance with UNFPA asset-management policy.
• Ensure supervisees’ travel follows applicable requirements and the approved travel plan.
• Prepare monthly workplans, monthly reports and other requested reports, and assist with programme proposals.
• Coordinate logistical support for meetings, workshops and events, and complete other duties as required.

Requirements

• Secondary education.
• Six years of relevant experience in administration, finance or office management.
• Proficiency with current office software, web-based management tools and ERP financial systems.
• Fluent English is required. Working knowledge of Indonesian and Tetum is desirable.

Assignment Details

This is a national UN Volunteer assignment in the Expert UCoS category from April 2026. The work is on UN premises in Dili. Applications close on 2 October 2026.
