The Physicist – AI Training role focuses on using advanced physics expertise to evaluate and improve the quality of AI-generated responses.

This AI Physics Expert role involves reviewing AI reasoning, assessing step-by-step problem-solving, identifying errors in calculations and methodology, fact-checking physics information, and providing expert feedback to help AI models generate more accurate, logical, and clearly explained answers.

The role also involves creating high-quality physics explanations and model solutions while comparing and rating AI responses based on their correctness and reasoning quality.

About the Role

As a Physicist working on AI training, you will apply your subject-matter expertise to evaluate how effectively AI models understand and solve physics problems.

The work includes assessing responses for accuracy, clarity, reasoning quality, and adherence to prompts, while identifying conceptual, methodological, or calculation errors.

You will also develop physics content and provide feedback that helps improve AI model performance.

Develop AI Training Content

Responsibilities include:

• Creating detailed prompts across different physics topics
• Developing responses that support AI training
• Helping AI models develop a comprehensive understanding of diverse subjects
• Writing high-quality physics explanations and model solutions that demonstrate correct methods

Evaluate and Optimise AI Performance

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing AI-generated responses
• Evaluating reasoning quality and step-by-step problem-solving
• Assessing responses for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to prompts
• Identifying errors in calculations, methodology, and conceptual understanding
• Fact-checking physics information
• Evaluating and ranking AI responses
• Comparing multiple AI responses based on physics correctness and reasoning quality
• Providing expert feedback to improve model accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance

Ensure Model Integrity

Responsibilities include:

• Testing AI models for potential inaccuracies or biases
• Validating model reliability across different use cases
• Helping ensure AI-generated physics responses are accurate, logical, and clearly explained

Your Profile

Candidates for this Physicist AI Training role should have:

• An MS or PhD in Physics or a related field from a top 100 university
• Strong physical reasoning skills
• Strong knowledge of mechanics
• Strong knowledge of electromagnetism
• Strong knowledge of optics
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics and statistical mechanics
• Strong modelling and systems-thinking abilities
• Experience developing or critically reviewing complex physics content, such as problem banks, proofs, textbook sections, or research notes
• Expertise in fact-checking information using public sources across multiple domains
• Ability to communicate physics concepts clearly
• Ability to translate advanced theory into real-world solutions
• Publication in a peer-reviewed journal

A background in research, analytical writing, debate, programming, or physics is preferred.

Experience with data labelling, RLHF, or AI model evaluation is considered a bonus.

Language Requirements

Candidates must have:

• English proficiency at C1 level or higher
• Excellent English writing skills
