About the Role

The Mathematician AI Training role requires mathematics specialists to evaluate the quality and correctness of AI-generated mathematical content.

You will assess solutions for accuracy, clarity, reasoning quality, and adherence to prompts, while identifying errors in calculations, methodology, and conceptual understanding.

The role also involves writing high-quality mathematical explanations and model solutions that demonstrate correct methods, as well as comparing multiple AI responses based on mathematical correctness and reasoning quality.

Develop AI Training Content

Responsibilities include:

• Creating detailed prompts across various mathematical topics
• Developing responses that guide AI learning
• Helping ensure AI models demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of diverse subjects
• Writing high-quality mathematical explanations and model solutions that demonstrate correct methods

Optimise AI Performance

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing AI-generated responses
• Evaluating reasoning quality and step-by-step problem-solving
• Assessing mathematical solutions for accuracy and clarity
• Checking adherence to prompts
• Identifying errors in calculations, methodology, and conceptual understanding
• Fact-checking quantitative information
• Evaluating and ranking AI responses
• Comparing multiple AI responses based on mathematical correctness and reasoning quality
• Providing expert feedback to improve model accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance

Ensure Model Integrity

Responsibilities include:

• Testing AI models for potential inaccuracies

Your Profile

Candidates for this Mathematician AI Training role should have:

• An MS or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field from a top 100 university
• Strong knowledge of pure and applied mathematics
• Confidence working with mathematical proofs
• Strong modelling capabilities
• Knowledge of statistics and probability
• Knowledge of optimisation
• Expertise in fact-checking information using public sources across multiple domains
• Ability to communicate complex mathematics clearly
• Ability to translate advanced mathematical theory into real-world solutions
• English proficiency at C1 level or higher
• Excellent English writing skills

A background in research, analytical writing, debate, programming, or mathematics is preferred.

For PhD holders, candidates should have experience developing or critically reviewing complex mathematical content, such as:

• Problem banks
• Mathematical proofs
• Textbook sections
• Research notes

Experience with data labelling, RLHF, or AI model evaluation is considered a bonus.
